| if my opponet holds 7d Qh and i hold 7c Ks, and the board is 5c, 6h, 8d,9s,Qs. who wind, everybody i talk too says it is a tie using the five best cards. I did not know if the queen he has or the king i have matter. |

| Best 5 card hand wins, in this case both players play a 9 high straight and the pot will be split. |

think of it this way:
you both got the "dummy hand" for the straight. Meaning, lower card (7). The kickers don't play when that happens... |

Yes, as I keep saying (and see being said), it's the ebst 5 cards. If it's two pairs each (and the same pair, for example), then the kicker will come in to make the 5th card. If you both play the same flushes or full houses, then the kicker doesn't come in because you already have 5 cards, you get me?
Took me a little while to realise that myself as I didn't like to ask when it came into play, but just remember - best 5 cards is your hand. If you need the kicker to make the 5 then it counts, if not, it doesn't. |
